2014 Christmas wishlist

04 December 2014

The start of December unfortunately means the arrival of winter. But it's also the month of my birthday, Sinterklaas
(a Belgian tradition) and of course Christmas! Which means gifts, gifts and more gifts! I always get a little overexcited and make huge wishlists, hoping my family and friends will get the hint haha. This year I'm swooning over these items:

1. Pug Christmas Jumper - A red sweater with snowflakes and a pug pretending to be Rudolph, need I say more?
2. Deer Print Mug - I have this crazy obsession with pretty mugs. It's my dream to have a mug rack like this in my kitchen one day. And this adorable deer print one was obviously meant to be in my collection.
3. Brockley Satchel in Camel - My dream satchel! I've been looking for a new bag that I can use for school and this one is just perfect. I'm in love with the tartan detail. Definitely going to order it as soon as I have some spare money!
4. Green Crochet Snood - Snoods are the best. They're easy to put on and they stay in place when it's windy outside. This particular one looks super cozy and forest green is one of my favorite winter colors!
5. Fun One Like You Dress in Gold - I'd love to go sparkly for New Year's and the details on this dress are so delicate and beautiful... I feel like 2015 simply couldn't go wrong wearing it.
6. Red Check Collared Shift Dress - I'm totally into any checked dress, skirt or whatever right now. But the collar and cute short sleeves on this dress put it highest on my list!
7. Revive Bootie - I really need some new decent ankle boots and I love the vintage look of this pair.

What's on your current wishlist?
Happy December y'all

DIY: polka dot travel jar

13 October 2014

The idea of creating my own travel fund jar has been on my mind ever since I stumbled on an example of one on Pinterest. There's nothing that makes me more happy than to travel and discover new places, but my coffee & clothes addiction keeps me from putting enough money aside. So I thought this might motivate me!
I wanted to make it something fun and personal. And I ended up with this colorful dotty one! It looks so cute in my room and I finished it in less than an hour. Feel like making your own?

 Here's what I used:

4 easy steps:

1. The first step is to write down the purpose of your jar, which in my case is to see the world! I practiced a little by writing some random things on a glass bottle.
2. The next thing to do is stick reinforcement labels all over your jar.
3. Color the holes with nail polish and let dry for a while.
4. Then simply take the stickers off and you'll be left with a jar full of cute dots!

Hope this was helpful!
Love, always

Signs of fall

07 October 2014

Hey guys! First of all I want to apologize for my long absence. My summer turned out a lot differently than I had hoped. Just as I had finished packing for Italy, I received some very sad news: My father-in-law passed away unexpectedly. On that moment it seemed like the whole world got turned upside down. I obviously didn't feel like blogging and the outfits I had planned to wear on holiday disappeared back into my closet.

But I'm feeling better now and I'm excited to update my blog more regularly again! October is here and that means my favorite season is too. This weekend we went for a walk in the woods and there are already colored leaves everywhere! I can't wait for the trees to turn orange and for everyone to put pumpkins on their front porches.

What do you love most about fall?
Have a great week!

A picnic by the lake

17 July 2014

Today I had the loveliest day! My bf and I went for a picnic by the lake and the weather couldn't have been better. A bit of love, a bit of food and a bit of sunshine was really all I needed! Staying true to my flower obsession, I wore a cross-back daisy print dress. I truly am a sucker for any piece with a pretty back detail. Also took my boater hat out for the occasion!
Hope you are all enjoying the summer! Have a lovely weekend ❤❤

July, she will fly

03 July 2014

At first I was a bit skeptical about the arrival of July, but now I'm pretty excited! I can't wait for the many new adventures summer will bring. The weather has been amazing these past few days and I just love being able to go out without a cardigan or jacket. Still sticking to layers though, today I combined a simple floral dress with a denim front tie top.

Happy Thursday!

Speculoos mousse

20 June 2014

Say hello to your new favorite dessert: speculoos mousse! Last night I had a small dinner with friends and I volunteered to prepare the dessert. I've wanted to make speculoos mousse for quite some time and this seemed like the perfect occasion. I don't know if you are all familiar with speculoos, it's a typical Belgian/Dutch biscuit which you will definitely love if you like cinnamon. I find it really yummy with nutella or crumbled up with ice cream and caramel sauce. Or in this case, in a mousse! The recipe is super easy and it takes less time to make than chocolate mousse!

You'll need (for 6 servings):
✔ 125g speculoos
✔ 500ml heavy cream
✔ 100g sugar
✔ 2 egg whites

✔ 2 bowls

✔ a mixer

1. First you'll need to crumble up the speculoos cookies into crumbs.

2. Pour the cream in a bowl and add the crumbs. Let it rest for a while so that the speculoos becomes less crunchy.

3. Put the egg whites and sugar in a second bowl and whip them until they are foamy.

4. Then whip the cream and speculoos until you get a mousse-y texture.

5. Lastly, carefully fold the egg whites into the speculoos and cream mixture. Your mousse is ready! Spoon it into 6 serving glasses and let chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour. You can top it with some extra speculoos crumbles if you like.

Let me know if you give this a go!
Hope you're having a great Friday

Embracing vibrant colors

16 June 2014

Took some quick snaps of my newest dress yesterday! I bought it right after I cut my hair, to sort of comfort myself I guess haha. I love the retro vibe it radiates and the vibrant colors just make me happy.

Have a lovely day!

Lately: new beginnings

14 June 2014

Lately I have (been)...

1. Eating strawberries freshly picked from the garden, so yummy!
2. Received the prettiest letter all the way from Poland, the first from my sweet new penfriend Ola. I'm so excited that we decided to write to each other, can't wait to hear about her adventures.
3. Totally crazy about bagels. The other afternoon I made one of my faves with goat cheese, walnuts, honey and thyme.
4. Chopped off my hair! I'd been thinking about it for quite a while and somehow found the courage to go for it. It's much shorter than I expected it to be, but I guess I'll get used to it. It does feel very summery!

Have a lovely weekend

3 outfit ideas for a summer picnic

11 June 2014

let's go for a picnic
let's go for a picnic III

let's go for a picnic II

Hey guys, it feels like forever since my last post! But school is now officially over and that means I can finally get back to doing the things I love most! I am so excited for summer and everything that comes with it: traveling, festivals, summer shopping sprees, having brunches in the park. I'm a huge fan of picnicking and that inspired me to put together some outfits! For me, picnics are all about simplicity so most of the time I just put on a floral dress, my vintage sunnies and comfy sandals and I'm good to go. Lately I'm also really into the overalls + crop top thing, need to get my hands on the perfect pair of denim overalls soon!

What do you like to put on for a picnic?
Happy Wednesday

Stop and smell the roses

02 May 2014

Spent yesterday's free day strolling around the city with a friend, snapping some pictures and eating some cake. I wore one of my favorite dresses by Jennifer Lilly Designs, just can't get enough of its gorgeous floral print.

Happy May everyone!

Hummingbird, sing to me

25 April 2014

Last Sunday I went to a flea market, one of my favorite things to do in the weekend now that the season is here. And I found this girly outfit ideal to wander through the streets looking for vintage jewelry, decoration and vinyl records.

What are your fave spring activities?
Love, always!
